RiskLab Essay Contest in decision engineering under Risk (Ecder)
On May 8, 2011, RiskLab announced a new project: the RiskLab Essay Contest in decision engineering under Risk (Ecder).

The main aims of Ecder are to stimulate intellectual debate, to contribute to the development of risk-based decision engineering methodologies, and to promote best risk management practices. Ecder welcomes both theoretical and empirical research papers within the risk field from the areas of financial engineering, industrial engineering and health sciences and engineering, as well as articles related to decision making, regulation and policy issues in all disciplines. Submitted papers must be in English and follow the format of the journal Systems Engineering Procedia.
Appropriate Candidate papers from this contest will be published in an Elsevier electronic journal – Systems Engineering Procedia (see the journal webpage at Elsevier webpage). Winners will be awarded with certificates from the organizer, in the name of both Elsevier and RiskLab. Winners’ name will appear on Elsevier and RiskLab’s official websites and newsletters. Selected papers will be invited to submit an extension work to SSCI/SCI indexed Elsevier journals*.
The submission deadline of the first contest will be October 30 2011. The first issue of the journal is expected to be published in August, 2011, so please submit your paper as soon as possible. All interested scholars and researchers are welcome to participate.

Papers in general should not exceed 10 pages, preferably around 7 pages.
